Titus Andronicus - Richard II

There’s something to be said for rediscovering an old album. Even though Titus Andronicus’s thoroughly enjoyable sophomore album The Monitor was only released last year, at the rate new music is released these days it may as well be 5 years old. But with that being said, I was one of those guys that gave the album a few listens, enjoyed it, then promptly moved on to the next brand new album that came out. Over this past weekend I forgot to put some more new tunes on my iPod, which forced me to listen to what was already on there. What a blessing in disguise.
This whole album is just filled with the kind of songs that you listen to while getting drunk with your best pals, singing along with whatever tunes come on, and maybe even breaking some shit depending on how rowdy you feel. While I was listening to it, the only thing I could think of was having this track playing in some saloon out in the Wild West with a bunch of people singing along and not giving a good god damn about anything other than having a good time.
I guess the moral of the story is to rediscover some “old” music more often.
