Wind Down Wednesday: Panacea - Blue Ice

About a week ago I managed to get my hands on my very own copy of Spotify. So far, I’d say it’s a pretty nifty invention. I’ve mostly been using it to preview albums, or check out some new artist before downloading their music. Not to mention it’s been leading me to some fantastic stuff. Namely tracks like this. 

Upon first listen, it sounded as if it was the reincarnation of Nujabes and some of his fantastic collaborations with other rappers. It starts out with a choice piano sample, some simple drums, a couple guys with some incredible flow and some great lyrics. What’s even better is when the beat changes up at the 2:13 mark. From there the song gets a new breath of life and continues to kick ass. All of the moving parts in this song just coalesce so well with each other, making a sum that’s greater than its parts.
